This is a very rich, high grade ore specimen from an unknown mine in Ouray, Colorado (near Telluride). It contains an abundance of small crystalline gold scattered throughout white and greyish quartz and galena. As you can see this is a high grade specimen with lots of visible gold that you can see on all sides of the piece. Small gold crystals are scattered throughout this piece.
The total weight of the specimen is 14.65 grams. We don't often see gold specimens available from Colorado as most of the gold that has been mined in Colorado is very tiny and not visible to the naked eye. This piece is very showy for a Colorado specimen. A great piece from a rare location.
