This dandy chunk of gold in quartz was found recently in Siskiyou County, California. This is an interesting piece... one side is smoother and waterworn, and the other side is very rough textured. It appears this piece may have broken off of an even larger specimens. Perhaps thousands of years ago. You can see gold on all sides of this piece. A very showy specimen. It would make a fine addition to any mineral collection. It weighs 19.60 grams, and my specific gravity test shows 14.10 grams of contained gold.
