This beautiful gold nugget that was recently found by a friend of mine in Northern California. It even made the cover of the ICMJ Prospecting and Mining Journal this month! (See last picture). Its just a bit under an ounce, weighing in at 27.8 grams. It has a really "fat" base (#3 picture) so it can sit up on its own and to me it resembles a viking ship. This one is a really nice find and a lovely example of gold from this region.
