4.75 Gram California Gold Specimen (SOLD)

This one is either ugly or fascinating, depending on what you like to collect. This specimens is from Calaveras County, California. Lots of interesting stuff going on with this piece. There is gold and quartz, but there is also what appears to be arsenopyrite, and also a black host rock mixed in as well. The gold runs through both the black rock and the white quartz, but the gold is notably brighter in the quartz, and a duller color veins that run through the black matrix. Really a neat piece for someone who wants something a little different. This piece weighs 4.75 grams.
