69.17 Gram California Gold Specimen (SOLD)

This gorgeous specimen is from California. It weighs 69.17 grams, or 2.22 troy ounces total. We did a specific gravity test on this piece which shows it is heavy with gold, with an estimated 55.97 grams of gold content, although there is a small amount of arsenopyrite visible in the piece that may account for a small amount of that weight. (specific gravity of quartz is of ~2.65, arsenopyrite is ~6.2, gold is 19.3)

As you can see from the pictures in is a very large piece. Rough measurements are 1 5/16" x 1 3/16" x 3/4". It is nice and solid, if you've been looking for a nice paperweight, this sweet specimen will do the job! It is very heavy in the hand.
