Functionality

 

The Fisher F75 uses several modes that allow the detector pick out gold and other non-ferrous metals with a high level of precision. These two modes are the all-metal mode and the discrimination mode.

The all-metal mode is used for detecting all metallic objects present in the user's location at any particular time. It will sound off on all metal items within its detection field when set to this mode.

The Discrimination mode masks certain metallic object from been detected depending on the settings that you use. Discrimination on the F75 can be adjusted to reject just the most obvious iron targets, but the disadvantage of using the discrimination mode is it often makes the finding of small and deep object difficult for the detector. This setting will miss more targets than you will in all-metal mode.

Another aspect of the functionality that is critical to gold prospectors is the sensitivity. A highly sensitive detector which the Fisher F75 is a typical example is an absolute must have for gold prospectors. The sensitivity of the F75 can be varied from a minimum zero to a maximum 99.
